The bullet passed through this hanging, aluminum foil strip. Circular fronts are produced moving in both directions from the puncture site.  The many small fronts trailing the bullet are probably produced by fine metallic particles discharged in the collision.  For an image of a similar collision photographed with direct lighting, go here.
