Results and Discussion

We see that our fits are relatively good because they produce initial velocity values that are close to our actual values for initial velocity.

(Picture B)                      230 m/s is 3.4% different

(Picture C)                      244 m/s is 2.5% different

It is clear that between picture C and Picture B there is a very large difference in the value of K for water.  5.2 m-1 is 39% different from the value of 8.36 m-1 obtained from the fit in Picture B.

Conclusion

From this data, we conclude that the oil has some effect on the pellets behavior after it has exited into the water. However, we do not have enough trials to know if this is a normal occurrence, or if we have a unique phenomenon. More research will be needed to come to a concrete answer for the effect of the oil.
