Test 1 - On our first shoot, a Optura digital motion camera was used to capture the first explosions as a trial run. Different shutter speeds were used to find the best speed to capture the explosions.
Test 2 - On the second shoot, we used the Optura digital motion camera again. For one trial, we tried to ignite one balloon from the explosion of an adjacent balloon, but this experiment didn't work. We also tried igniting the balloon from different sections of the balloon to see what the effects would be.

Test 3 - A digital still camera was used for the third shoot, but the sound trigger and flash were not working correctly, so we were only able to take photos using a bulb setting and the light from the explosion to expose the image.

Test 4 - Our final shoot involved using a sound trigger that set off the flash and the digital still camera. Our first images were at the beginning of the rip, so we moved the microphone down the rod stand about 6 inches to get an image later in the explosion. We also kept the flame relatively still behind the balloon to cut down on the candle blur as the balloon was lit.
